Dear 600 AM Listener,
Thank you for your support of 600AM, Vancouver.
As you may know by now, in May of this year the Pattison Broadcast Group received permission from the CRTC to convert 600AM to a new FM frequency for Vancouver. That new station, 100.5 The PEAK is now on the air and for the next several weeks we will be simulcasting the programming of the PEAK on the 600 AM frequency.
Unfortunately, that means the programming and music that you are used to hearing on 600AM is no longer available on that frequency. However, I have good news for you in that a different Vancouver AM station (650 CISL, a Division of Astral Communications) has adopted the 600AM music format as of November 10th. You may now hear most of the music you were enjoying on 600AM at 650 on your AM dial. I should point out that 650 CISL is also the new home of programs and announcers that you have enjoyed on 600AM in the past…including Dal Richards, Fred & Gerry, Brian Minter and Dave McCormick. http://www.650cisl.com/
The frequency of 600AM has had a long and very colorful history in the City of Vancouver. In one way or another, it has been a part of the fabric of Vancouver for more than 80 years and we will certainly miss it. We were very fortunate to be able to produce a tribute to the history of 600AM, which was the final event broadcast on the station just before 6pm on November 13th, 2008. If you would like to hear the historical piece on 600AM (including a number of audio tributes to the past) please click on the link provided and enjoy the broadcast.

In closing, I would sincerely like to thank you for your support of 600AM over the more than 10 years that we have been in the Adult Standards music format. We’ve had a great time and hope that you enjoyed the programming we were able to provide. In the words of one of America’s great stars and entertainers, Mr. Bob Hope, “Thanks for the Memories.”
Sincerely, Gerry Siemens, Vice President/General Manager, Pattison Broadcast Group, Vancouver.
